Huey let down the side in July, but the word is out that he/she will deliver in August – so wax up for this coming weekend.
Indeed, this time last year with barely a few waves on offer for Shoes showdowns, it was August that saw The Reef go off.
We can only hope that history repeats – and that the world renowned Shoes contestants – young and old, male and female, smooth and radical, cool and feisty – are able to provide a sell-out crowd with the revved-up wave demolition that is globally revered.
The jungle drums are beating, so psyche up for an 8am start!
The back-up weekend is 16-17.
