Jarrod Horner, surfing with plenty of spirit and finesse, grabbed the Open final to push him past reigning champion Jack Irvin on the leaderboard, and only a few points adrift of front runner Matt Mulder.Mulder retained his advantage by claiming second spot, followed by Paul Coady, Steve Cryer, Simon Boylan and Peter Greig.
Boom sets throughout the day gave every competitor the chance to shine, with a side shore wind only making conditions tricky at the end of the day.

The Juniors championship is now settling into a four way battle royale, with Jesse Horner under the pump from Reece Moffat, Nathan Hatheier and Harrison Martin.Moffat got the major points this time round with some precision surfing coupled with an array of slashing reentries and snaps.
The Super Groms deserve special mention for venturing out in the solid conditions – and turning on an impressive display.

Simon Boylan earned the Puresea Surf Shop $50 Gift Voucher for his excellent riding to claim a place in the Open final for the first time.
The October pointscore is scheduled for 16-17 October.
This coming Saturday is the annual King of the Beach event, with Shoes taking on the rest of the Cronulla world, starting at 7.30am.
