After a long wait, the Battle for World Title Championships on the Reef that Rules got cracking in solid swell.
The adrenalin rush after many weeks of waiting for waves saw every member slashing and burning like there was no tomorrow.
Across all three Divisions, the judges had a whale of a time trying to decipher the winners, with the point scores going of the Richter!
Brotherly love in the Opens and Juniors saw an explosion of slashing, banging, take no prisoners mindset that the WSL Tour can only dream about.
Harry Martin and Nathan Martin were standout performers, with Harry grabbing first place and Nathan third by the slimmest of points from Tommy Mulder (2nd) and Luke Wedesweiler in fourth.
Meanwhile, the Juniors set new limits of aggressive wave demolition, with Kash Brown coming in first, Zai Brown second, Finlay Moore third and Ryder McDonnell fourth.
Enter the Masters, with the highly professional Oldies but Goodies bursting onto the scene with an avalanche of big scoring manouevres that had the Judging Panel hooting so loud that it woke up local householders!
Chris Durante captured No 1 spot, John Bonello No 2, Neil Coleman No 3 and Michael Samuel No 4.
So another cracker of a contest emerging under the management of Guy Turner.
And so it is now down to waxing up for the August Bash-Bang at Shoes, with the two contest dates of 15-16 and 22-23.
